Farmer's daughter
Mark Rossiter

I remember a mean old man, at the end of our road
Constantly stare me down, my blood run cold
Cause he didn't like the length of my hair, or the ink on my skin
Told me I was a devil son, headed straight for sin
Well I watched her grow into a woman from a child
I remember the day at his door and the look in his eye

Now it's a heavy burden, on a young man's soul
But I was bound and determined, to let it go
Cause she can lift my spirit's up with a look in her eye
Cause she knows she's got me, by her side

I remember the mean old man, in his final days
We never did see eye to eye, some things never change
But I was there to give him comfort by his bed
I put my hand on hers on his, and all I said was

Oh I got your daughter
Yeah the farmer's daughter
