Dave Eibel

Dave "Smack" Eibel... bangin 'da electric skins

Dave started out playing on a set of coffee cans until he got his first real drum set at about the age of thirteen. By age fifteen, Dave was active in the school drum program which included: Pep, Jazz, Symphony,  Marching, etc.  He also started drummin' with some local bands and artists on the weekends. He was learning a lot about playing at a young age.  With all this to keep him busy, Dave still found time to work some part-time jobs to help fund his favorite thing, the infamous "high school rock 'n' roll band". You know, every musician has been in one (long hair and ego's). But, that was the good ol' days. Since then, Dave has covered a lot of ground. He's been doin' this a long time. From being an opening act for some major recording artist to a small pissed-off crowd in an animal club, Dave's done it all. He's also done quite a bit of studio work along the way. With all Dave has done, he's played on quite a few different drum sets through the years. He keeps up on all the latest technology in the drum world. He's tried everything out there. With Backbone, he is currently using Roland V's. He's very pleased with his drums and the band. That doesn't happen too often.

Influences: Dokken, Bullet Boys, AC/DC, Rush

Gear: Roland V-drums with the D10 Module, Zildjian cymbals, Tama King Cobra pedals, and Alesis effects, all of which are supplied by C.A. House in St. Clairsville.

Things I like: thunderous bass drums, crackin snares, good timing, and dogs -- "hot days + cold beer + one boat + two fishin poles, add up to nothin but good times!"

Things I don't like: snakes, cold weather, warm beer, and lazy people
